Mindful Outdoor Experiences are nature-based experiences combining nature therapy, mindfulness, and outdoor awareness skills.
With the average American spending a whopping 10+ hours a day on a screen and 90 percent of their lives indoors, it’s time to lay down your devices, press pause on your over scheduled days and step outside to reconnect with the natural world around you.
Mindfulness is awakening to the reality of the present moment.
Thich Nhat Hahn
What does that mean?
Mindfulness in nature is nothing new, it’s simply connecting to the world we inhabit and getting to know the elements and life forms we share our home with. It’s about tuning into nature and the place – the history, plants, animals, insects, waterways and landscapes – that’s all around you. I will guide you back (or deepen) your connection to the land and the place you call home.
You do not have to go to the ends of the earth to have this mindful and wild experience. A walk in a familiar place can be an epic mindful outdoor experience.
How?
In a Mindful Outdoor Experience we practice being in the present moment. We move slowly across the land exploring the natural world while engaging and expanding all our senses. It’s about slowing down, breathing and tuning into what is happening now. A Mindful Outdoor Experience is not about exercising, getting your steps or reaching a destination.
Each experience is unique to you, the place and the time. It is your personal journey into the natural world.
