Spring Mindful Outdoor Experience

The environment is where we all meet, where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share. It is not only a mirror of ourselves, but a focusing lens on what we can become.

Would you like to connect with nature?

Connect to the land and the land you live around? Slow down and unplug from technology for 60 minutes?

Come join me on Friday, April 25 at 8am or Sunday, April 27 at 8am for a guided mindful experience out in nature. You will meet me at the trail for an orientation to place, gentle warm-up and gratitude practice before moving slowly along the trail allowing your journey to unfold step by step. We close our experience with a nature meditation and council practice. Scroll down for more details and contact info.

What is a Mindful Outdoor Experience?

A Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE), is a nature-based experience— combining forest bathing, meditation/mindfulness, and outdoor awareness skills.

As humans, we often spend our time thinking about the past. We also think about what will be coming in the future. Mindfulness is paying attention to and being aware of what is happening NOW. By practicing mindfulness with nature, you connect with the natural world around you. This helps form deeper connections to the land and to your own body, mind, and spirit.

Unlike traditional meditation that asks us to focus inward, nature mindfulness invites us to engage with our surroundings. We use our senses to become aware of everything happening around us in the more-than-human world. You will be connecting with the landscape. You will open your heart and mind. Use your senses to connect at a deeper level with the world around you. You will not be exercising, getting your heart rate up, or counting steps.

For April’s MOE we will meet at a designated location. You will be guided through an orientation to place, a gentle warm-up, and gratitude practice. We will begin to wander quietly and slowly with the land. We will become aware of the natural world around us in the present moment. As your guide, I will be offering various invitations along the way. Towards the end of the experience, you will find a place that calls to you. This is your ‘sit-spot’ – a place where you can simply be with nature. We will close the experience with a council practice.
